MEET THE FOUNDERS – ALEX & KATIE

We have owned the hotel for over 15 years and through lots of hard work and excellence from our team, managed to set the standard for a new generation of boutique coaching inns up and down the country. We are proud to have created a food destination and have regulars who return from far and wide. We are relaunching this Easter after our refurbishment and want to build a great team to deliver the best in British hospitality. Join us at The George in Rye!

MEET OUR TEAM – FRIENDLY – RESPECTFUL – RELIABLE

ANNELIIS, ROOMS & REVENUE MANAGER

I joined The George in 2013, starting as their Office Administrator before being promoted to Reception Manager a year later. I then undertook extensive training on revenue management through HOSPA to gain my qualifications and confidence to manage this interesting area of the business, gaining the job title of Rooms & Revenue Manager. I love my job - I love the buzz, I love the excitement, the commitment; leading guests through their journey with us. I love that we are there to make sure the guest’s experience is perfect from start to end and the hotel itself - it is just a pleasurable place to work, somewhere where you always feel like home - I would not change working at the George for the world

JOSHUA, HEAD CHEF

I first joined the George in 2013 as a Sous Chef, the George is great company to work for and Rye is a lovely little corner of the world. While working at the George I met my now fiancée and mother of my two children! After a short break I returned to The George in 2018 as Head Chef. I enjoy the freedom and respect of the owners, trusting me to manage their kitchen and appreciate how dynamic the business is, allowing me to work and interact with the guests. The George really is an exciting business with vision to help any young chef progress in a healthy environment

MILES, RECRUITMENT & OPERATIONS MANAGER

I joined the team in 2019 as Recruitment & Operations Manager, working both in Rye and the sister hotel in Canterbury. No two days are ever the same for me. I bring a wealth of hospitality experience to the company and enjoy mentoring our new starters. The George is a great place to work with so many fantastic opportunities available. I’m likely to be one of the first people you meet during our recruitment process, and my advice to you is, to just be yourself, relax and enjoy the experience. We’re a great team, who will support you every step of the way
